Chinese smartphone maker Meizu is launching a Ubuntu powered smartphone to Europe.
It will be the MX4 with a price of only €299.
The phones will be available only with an invitation.To get one visit the English website of Meizu and click on the alternative origami wall. This reveals the available number of invites
Since June 25 origami wall was reportedly live. According to Cristian Parrino, vice-president of Canonical Mobile, as saying that hose who were not able to procure an invite on the opening day, will be able to secure one on 26 June.
All prospective buyers visiting Meizu’s MX4 web-portal will be able to get an invite. Parrino further claimed that all wil be able to buy a MX4 device.
Both companies Meizu and Canonical has revealed the exact number of available invitations.
The invitation system is like we know from OnePlus. They sold the OnePlus One only on invitation. Today this phone can bought without.
It’s great to see that the MX4 is one of the first Ubuntu-edition smartphones. It add’s a touch of open-source to the MX4 smartphone.
Ubuntu Touch, which brings cross-platform support and a uniform user experience on both large-screen desktop devices as well as smaller-screen mobile devices is a huge and Unique selling point.
Basicly the MX4 can run all apps as well on the phone as on larger screens after being launched.
The feature is a big added functionality to the Meizu’s MX4 comparing to their Android and IOS opponents
