With the launch of the OnePlus 2 on July 27th, more specifications are being revealed to startup the new hype. OnePlus has confirmed that their successor of the OnePlus 1 will have a 1.8Ghz Snapdragon 810 CPU, the new USB Type C connection and a fingerprintscanner.
The fingerprintscanner is a feature we see a lot this year on other mid-range and high-end devices like the uleFone Be Touch. According to the description it looks like it is using the same technology as used in the Huawei Mate 7 and will probably be placed on the rear panel. that only needs a single tap to both wake and unlock the phone. It will be possible to save up to 5 fingerprints on the OnePlus 2 which means you and other trusted users can also get access to your phone.
The announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 seems to be a strange choice because of its reported overheating problems. According to OnePlus CEO, Pete Lau, OnePlus worked very closely with Qualcomm on an improved version of the chipset in the OnePlus 2 and fine-tuned both hardware and software. The Snapdragon 810 has an octa-core CPU with 64-bit cores, along with the Adreno 430 GPU.
According the OnePlus, the retailprice is expected to be more than $322.
